In construction and groundworks, delays rarely come from a lack of work, they usually come from a lack of equipment. When a machine is ready to start but the correct attachment isn’t available, the entire project can quickly fall behind schedule. That’s why equipment availability plays such a critical role in the excavator attachment industry.
At ECFS Group, one of our biggest priorities is making sure that our customers get the equipment they need when they need it.
Across the UK construction industry, demand for attachments such as digging buckets, grading buckets, trenching buckets, pallet forks and specialist attachments changes quickly. A particular type of bucket may suddenly become popular due to seasonal groundwork projects, drainage jobs or infrastructure work starting across multiple sites.
Because of this, simply holding a fixed amount of stock isn’t always enough.
We constantly monitor which attachments are moving quickly and which machines they’re being fitted to. When we notice that a particular product is becoming a popular choice among contractors, we will increase stock levels to make sure we can continue supplying customers without delays.
For contractors, this makes a big difference. Waiting several weeks for an attachment can completely disrupt a project schedule. Having a supplier who actively manages stock levels means there’s a much better chance the equipment will be available immediately.
Attachments aren’t necessarily interchangeable between machines, and this is where we are able to offer advice and information. Excavators vary widely in terms of weight class, coupler type, pin size and geometry, which means availability must cover a wide range of specifications.
Which is why a wide range of stock on hand is so important.
ECFS customers may enquire about a particular attachment, and we usually have the right piece of equipment ready to go. If demand increases unexpectedly, we will always look at quickly bringing in additional stock to keep projects moving.
In construction, time really is money, and having the right equipment available at the right time makes all the difference.
